A Partnership began in 1979 between Peter and Heather Phillips. Work began doing fix outs, bathrooms and room extensions. The company then moved into Sub-Contracting which involved top storys, additions and renovations. Phillips Builders became a Pty Ltd Company in June 1985.

Phillips Builders were offered the opportunity to work with the Dept of Housing. This began with the company becoming an alternative contractor for the Villawood/Bankstown area for two years. A contract (Single Trade) began in 1994 with the Miranda Office. During this time we also completed 12 months in Hurstville. In 2000 the company became a Multi trade contractor in the following areas SS08 Miranda & SS03 East Hills. We also completed major projects for Resitech and Accelerated Improvement Program. In 2002 we carried out additional work as a Multi trade contractor in Bankstown also as a single trade contractor for East Hills area. Value of this contract exceeded 3m per year.

All works carried out for the Dept of Housing involves upgrading and building repairs to both tenanted and vacant properties. We currently carry out upgrading work for Bridge Housing, Women’s Housing and Aboriginal Housing, These programs involve upgrading of their properties.

Phillips Builders Pty Ltd QMS/OHSE&R Manual has been accredited with Dept of Public Works and Services as addressing the requirements of the Construction Policy Steering Committee OHS&R Management Systems Guidelines 3rd Edition. We are actively involved in work with community housing groups that have a range of physical and mental disabilities. We ensure that our staff are familiar with how to interact in a way that is non disruptive or intrusive.

  Licensed Builder, Licensed Carpenter, CM3 Accredited

  Trevor has been employed by our company for over 20years, Beginning his time with us as a first year apprentice. Trevor has worked onsite as a Site manager & Supervisor. Five years ago Trevor became sole managing Director.

  Licensed Builder, Licensed Carpenter

  Peter was our managing director since Phillips Builders was established in 1985. He has recently taken on a smaller roll in the company, Scoping properties, designing our Kitchens and liaising with our contractors. His years of knowledge and experience in this industry are invaluable to the growth of our company.

• BARRY MALONE

  Licensed Carpenter

  Barry has worked for the company since 2005 and is a valued member of our team. He has a great understanding of the work we carry out and always ensures that safety comes first.

• EDEL PHILLIPS

  Edel has previously worked with her own small business, before joining Phillips Builders six years ago and works in our offices full time managing the administration side, accounting and bringing attention to detail and great customer service.

• HEATHER PHILLIPS

  Heather has been with Phillips Builders from the outset, helping build the company and the reputation it has today. Heather is currently working in our offices, book keeping, and managing all aspects of quality control.
